In 1999 the IPR Cell was first established as an entity within NID with a clear mandate of facilitating and guiding students and others in the various aspects and issues in the field of IPR. In this process we had to first educate ourselves leading gradually to a growing awareness in the NID community (students and faculty) about the importance and relevance of IPR and so far we have in the Institute also organized 4 conferences on IPR. More and more people have been approaching the cell for IP protection especially from the student community of NID. We have so far registered over 18 products, which have been designed by students.
