This booklet is an endeavour to introduce the reader to the world of Nano & Smart Technology Textiles with a coverage of basics & history, international and national status and NID's insight and initiative with design applications. It has been prepared as a part of research activities by John Bissell Chair set up at NID under a Ford Foundation grant to create fusion of Design & Technology in Textile & Apparel for value addition and better market. This publication will be of interest to designers, technologists, managers in the educational and scientific institutes as well as in the industry.
