Intel’s healthcare project aimed to study the entire healthcare eco-system and stakeholders in it. The project identified pain points in healthcare where technological intervention would benefit the system. During the project, ultrasound devices as an area were identified and focused upon with deliverables being a detailed concept and supporting system proposal.

I performed the user study and ethnographic research within the project scope, a series of concepts were developed and reviewed internally within Intel, a detailed model was developed and the whole process was delivered as project ImageIN. ImageIN was developed as a final concept proposal after the whole eco-system was studied and vascular access ultrasound was identified as an area of focus.

Intel would like to penetrate the area of healthcare by developing a system which is beneficial to all stakeholders involved, but most importantly it should improve the quality of service and care that patients receive. The concept was developed with usage scenarios and it would need to be tested first as a working prototype before it could be proposed for a pilot programme phase.

Intel’s Healthcare project was concluded after ImageIN was a detailed, technically feasible concept with usage models. The project allowed me to study the entire eco-system and identify areas where technological intervention could improve the quality of healthcare. ImageIN may be prototyped and put into a pilot programme to understand if the healthcare ecosystem will benefit from such intervention.
