Man and the Machine

Man and the Machine

The film is on environment awareness and pollution. Nature is responsible for all living beings’ growth and development, and in turn, human beings are responsible for her care. If humans do not care enough, nothing will be left in the end except darkness.

In the story, a man starts growing factories in place of little saplings. As the tiny factory grows bigger, he starts producing all kinds of products. He is happy and proud, and his greed also grows proportionally. In the end, the little factory becomes a hungry giant that devours its own maker.

I chose the classic way of doing animation for the film. The processes involved in the film were: at the pre-production stage—research, concept, character design, style and treatment, storyboard; at the production stage— animation, line -test and scanning, sequence timing; post-production—compositing, sound design, editing, and special effects.

Since the project was a self sponsored film, I had to don many caps for the film single-handed. The project enhanced my animation skills, ability to think and the art of animation film making. I also learnt certain details of software which paid back at the end of the day. This project has increased my speed of work and also my decision making abilities. I also learnt to deal with clients. At the end of the day, I feel happy I worked on a meaningful film with a message on environment awareness, a concern I feel from the heart.
