The One and the Other

The One and the Other

The film is about conflicting identities, exploring the idea of binary oppositions and respecting our binary opposite who defines us.

The story has two brothers with an age difference of one year between them. From childhood, both prefer the opposite in every choice they make. But life changes as the brothers are forced to change their school. The story explores the idea of difference existing at every stage between the two brothers.

The pre production stage entailed idea conceptualization, research, story, character building, and screenplay, casting actors, location scout, scheduling the shoot, and crewing up. Then came the production part, and shooting of the film. Post-production involved editing, dubbing, sound design, music, colour correction, graphics, voice-over narration, and subtitling.

Life’s most beautiful and useful lessons lie in the old sayings we learn, such as “work is worship; as you sow so shall you reap; honesty is the best policy; everything that goes around comes around; love thy neighbour,” and most importantly that a more superior force exists and that one is never going to be alone. Our master plans may crumble and hurdles disturb our process, but when we look at the larger picture, we see and appreciate how beautifully the hurdles appeared and made our success a greater one. There exists a larger design and together with it we make our destiny.
