Punah: Beginning of the End

Punah: Beginning of the End

The film is the story of Nihar, Ajay and Neha. Neha believes the two men are gay, sees in their relationship an interesting story, and befriends them. Nihar falls in love with her. Neha’s story is nearing its end when she finds to her bafflement that Ajay has intimate relations with a girl and is not gay as she’d earlier thought. Does she go ahead with her story or leave it incomplete?

To break away from the feel of an amateur film, my script helped me to convince some professionals to be a part of it. The professional actors and original music played a major role in conveying my story. It was challenging yet exciting. The sole performer, I bridged the gap between being the director and executive producer. The journey was long, but the team was well planned with professional actors, a cinematographer and a music director. I was accountable for all the creation and destruction. I paid for everything, made every decision and for as long as I wanted but in the end, I was the one accountable for every move.

The film transformed me as a person and a filmmaker. It was an opportunity to build relationships, collaborate with some wonderful professional artists, refine my craft and push my boundaries as a filmmaker. It’s such a joy to see something grow from an idea to a finished film.

Filmmaking is not one man’s job; it is team effort that makes an execution successful.
