The Lifestyle Accessory Design discipline trains students to create lifestyle accessories and systems using different materials, processes and techniques. Focusing on human and spatial contexts, it follows a strong multi-disciplinary approach where students get an opportunity to work in a wide spectrum of domains such as personal accessories, luggage, footwear, lighting, furniture and interior objects. They also explore colours, materials and trims for white goods and automobile interiors.

The discipline draws from indigenous contexts and their socio-cultural values, practices and knowledge which have contemporary applications. It delves into perception and trend studies from diverse user-groups that influence the lifestyles of consumers from various strata of society. The discipline has close linkages with many international universities through MoUs for student exchange. Students are encouraged to participate in various national/global level design competitions, conferences and shows where they have received a number of awards and accolades.
