Ms. Sonal Chauhan is an Associate Senior Professor and Discipline Lead, Apparel Design programme at National Institute of Design. She graduated from National Institute of Fashion Technology, Gandhinagar.

She has been an educator at NID’s Apparel Design program since 2009 and has extensive work experience in areas such as the apparel industry, crafts and academics.

She has been actively involved with academic projects and courses revolving around Draping, Advance draping, Garment Construction, Craft Studies and Design for Social Development through Craft.

Some of her recent works were based on uniform design, craft based skill & product developments; industry workshop related to ‘Fundamental’s of Visual Design’ and workshops encouraging Slow consumption, Slow Fashion and Co- Design.

She enjoys working with Indian Textiles and Crafts; believes in and practices Sustainable Design.
