Computer Based Tutorial (Quickstart Q+) for the Software CRM Q+

Organisations today rely on survey research to gather much-needed business intelligence. Surveys can help one understand customer preferences about a particular product, gauge employee satisfaction, identify market opportunities and more.

CRM Survey Inc. had developed a comprehensive survey management application called CRM Q+ that enabled users to design a survey, deploy it, analyse and report the results. The company wanted to make the application as accessible as possible to the users; this called for a computer based training to help users with simplified instructions and example based training.

This project required an extensive research followed by a learning system design that utilised almost every possible technology available in the field of instruction design. Extensive user study and testing throughout the design and development process resulted in an effective computer based training called Quickstart Q+.

My role involved doing user-study, analysis, development of wireframes and working with graphic design team to create detailed prototypes, to working with the Flash development team to integrate the application and deliver the final prototype. This role taught me to manage time and people’s resources and be an effective team player.

Through this project I got an opportunity to explore my interest in instruction and interaction design, balance theory and practice for better learning, and gain industry knowledge. The responsibility of the functional application to be delivered within six months wouldn’t have been possible for me without working as a part of the team.
